Acid Free Toughened Tempered Glass For Fridge Vegetable Box Cover
Description of toughened tempered glass:
Toughened tempered glass is a type of safety glass which is prepared to increase the strength of normal glass. The glass undergoes compression and tension through which, the glass breaks down into pieces. This can cause injuries and damage and thus, the toughened glass is used for making door panels, control panel, glass shelves and such things used on regular basis. Toughened glass eliminated the possibility of injury and is constructed under strict supervision to ensure durability and strength.

Process of toughened tempered glass:
Step 1 Float glass is cut to the desired size.
Step 2 Prior to the tempering process, the cut glass is checked for
flaws such as cracks, bubbles, and inclusions. The presence of
these imperfections can cause breakage during the tempering
process.
Step 3 The glass is washed to remove dust, dirt, and debris that
could interfere with the thermal tempering process.
Step 4 After it has been cut, checked for flaws, and washed, the
glass travels either in batches or in a continuous feed through a
furnace, where it is heated at temperatures over 600 degrees
Celsius.
Step 5 After the heating process, the scorching piece of glass
undergoes a cooling process. During this process, the glass
receives high-pressure blasts of cold air from varying angles for
about three to 10 seconds. The process, called “quenching,” cools
down the surface of the glass much faster than it does the center.
Because of this, the interior zone of the glass stays in tension
while the surface goes into compression. This combination of
competitive stresses is what makes tempered glass so strong.
Advantages of toughened tempered glass:
1) Impact resistance: the impact strength of tempered glass with
the same thickness is 3-5 times of that of ordinary glass, and the
bending strength is 3-5 times of that of ordinary glass. We often
use, store and clean dishes in the kitchen. It's hard to avoid
rubbing kitchen appliances. The use of toughened glass with high
impact resistance can enhance the durability of kitchen appliances.
2) Good safety: the raw materials of tempered glass generally
contain less impurities, and the fine control in the melting
process of raw materials makes the ultra white glass have more
uniform composition than ordinary glass, and its internal
impurities are less, thus greatly reducing the possibility of self
explosion after tempering. When the toughened glass is damaged by
external force, the fragments will become small particles with
obtuse angle similar to honeycomb, which is not easy to cause
serious injury to human body. Even if the environment in the
kitchen is bad, the toughened glass with stable properties will not
cause accidents.
Quality Inspection Item
1, Printing appearance: the glass printing area (ink covered area)
of the control panel is judged under the condition that the back
has opaque cover (black background), and under the black
background, it is acceptable that the front is invisible.
2, Evenness: bow shape ≤ 0.5%; there is one place (one peak and one
trough) allowed for every 610mm of waveform;
3, Granularity test: two pieces of tempered glass are selected for
each batch of glass to be tested, and the place where the center of
the long side of the glass plate is 13mm higher than the bottom
edge is taken as the breaking point (see figure). After the glass
is broken, the two areas with the largest granularity are selected
in a 50mm*50mm box for counting. The number of crack-free particles
completely contained in the 50mm*50mm box must be ≥50, and the
largest particle size must be ≤ 15 mm * 8 mm.
FAQ
Q: What's the cut hole effect?
A: It depends on different thickness and for thick glass; we
usually use water jet + CNC.
For thin glass, we use CNC for cut hole to make sure no breakage chips exist from hole edge.
Q: Is irregular shape glass available?
A: No problem because we will use shape cutting machine + CNC to
make sure about the quality.
Q: How's the silk print effect?
A: Feihong received lots of praise in silk print quality base on
import paints + auto silk print machine + dust free room.
Available in high temperature silk print(The paint melt into glass)
and low temperature paint(Pass adhesion test).
Q: What's the edge treatment could meet?
A: We could make direct cut(cut chips, cheapest), fine grinded(CNC)
and polish edges base on your need.
The chamfer / radius could be set.
